Normally, documentaries only exist on the major engineering projects. How nice to see a routine project get covered in detail.
As a film I give it 3/5, but I gave it an extra star for using the metric system!

So I Built a Steel Bridge and It's Steel Up
Boring film about building a bridge in the Dominican Republic. Those who are really into bridge-building might enjoy this, though, as the process is described in detail. And since the film was sponsored by U.S. Steel, no opportunity was missed to point out how strong and what a great material in general the steel used to build the bridge was.
Ratings: Camp/Humor Value: *. Weirdness: *. Historical Interest: ***. Overall Rating: **.
This is a curious short designed by US steel to promote how US Steel built a bridge along the Yaque (OK, it's pronounced Yakee) river in the Dominican Republic. Curiously, the short starts showing us bridges from New York and San Fransisco and then the narrator says the title. Hmmm.. Was this a continuing series about bridge building? I'd be very curious to find out if they differed from this short I saw, which is pretty uneventful bridge building. Mind you,a ll the big stuff is built in the US. Can't trust those Dominicans with everything.
